Short-term and Long-term Disability Insurance (MetLife)

What Are My Options?

Disability coverage and needs may vary depending on your situation. You may choose from two types of coverage: short-term and long-term coverage.

Coverage Options

Short-Term Disability

If pregnant, injured, suffering from depression, or diagnosed with an illness, you’ll need financial support during work absence.

If you can’t earn your paycheck due to a short-term situation, here’s a coverage solution that will financially support you no matter the circumstances.

  • Weekly payments: receive a portion of your salary for three months to a year, depending on your policy.
  •  Competitive group rates only offered through your employer

Long-Term Disability

Maintain your standard of living while recovering from a chronic disability: high blood pressure, depression, and other issues.

Long-term disability through your employer can help you stay afloat and pay your expenses if you find yourself out of work due to a chronic condition.

  • It covers essential living expenses, such as food, clothing, utilities, a mortgage, car payments, and more.
  • Direct monthly payments: If you’re unable to work (after the initial waiting period), a portion of your salary will be paid directly to you each month.
